Postmortem, Location Based Gaming & surprise 20th of February

IGDA DK presents in collaboration with PROSA: Postmortem, Location Based Gaming & surprise  20th of February

We are kicking off our spring series of SIG evenings with three presentations.

1) Thorbjørn Lynggaard Sørensen & August B. Hansen (Reality Lag) – Crash & Learn.

Reality Lag is a small company consisting of two guys, August and Thorbjørn, two game-lovers, who has a big dream, ending up making games for a living.
The two guys has, as most gamers, big dreams, and big ambitions, that does not always follow reality, but even if they fly a little higher than their wings can hold, they enjoy the trip.
This talk is about their latest project, that, even tho’ it failed, gave them some important lessons on how to move on, and fueled their ”love for game-making” fire.
They want to share their experience, and tell a bit about what they learned from this process.
Besides, one of their goals with this project, was to be able to create presentation in the end.

2) Asbjoern Malte Soendergaard ( Tactile), will talk on Location based gaming and show off some of their projects.

3) Surprise! – We are awaiting final confirmation from our last speaker

Unity Special Interest Group on 17th of October

IGDA DK presents in collaboration with PROSA:

Unity Special Interest Group on 17th of October
Ole Ciliox and Kuba Cupisz from Unity Technologies - http://unity3d.com/ - will be presenting various graphics techniques using depth and normals buffers.

The methods range from improving standard techniques such as particle effects, to creating entirely new ones, like approximate volumetric effects, and advanced image post-processing. The buffers used are in many cases the natural products of the rendering pipeline and offer a way to infer surprisingly much information about the scene, thus allowing for very rich and fast graphics effects. The session can be followed both by artists and programmers, as it discusses the possibilities of the post-processing effects and their technical side.
